The Clyde Malone Community Center
The Clyde Malone Community Center, located in Lincoln, aims to strengthen the Lincoln community by serving as a cornerstone for educational, cultural, and advocacy programs. They are centered around three core values: Accountability, diversity, and collaboration. With this as the foundation, they have many programs serving the community. Some include the Out-of-school program, senior program, talented tenth scholars program, and the keepers of the flame project.
The Clyde Community Center was founded in 1955 through a reorganization of the Lincoln Urban League. Founded at a time where civil rights for African Americans were extremely limited, the founders, both black and white, were determined to improve social and economic conditions and increase understanding between all races. They believed this understanding between all people would create a better community.
